In this book there is a few places that make me stop and think such as in the book they are going through this really deep vally and I wonder what it looks like? How deep it actually is? How long does it go on for. Well I think that it is a really deep vally and goes on for a long time.

  1. Sometimes books touch you, reminding you of your own life, as part of the larger human experience. Are there connections between the book and your own life? Or, does the book remind you of an event (or events) that happened to someone you know? Does the book remind you of what happened in another book you've read?
yes this does remind me of ne of my personal stories.

When we moved out to the farm I live at now we have a forest and a pond, I remember walking through the forest going to my pond and then finally there it is and it was amazing. This is just like Frodo and his friends in the book lord of the rings part 1.

  1. Are you confused about what happened (or didn't happen) in the book? What events or characters do you not understand? Does the use of language in the book confuse you? How did your confusion affect how you liked the book? Is there anything that the author could have done to make what happened (or didn't happen) more clear?

Sometimes in this book I get really confused because it can be really random especially when they are in the woods it can really get confusing. The reason it is so confusing is because they are jumping scenes and actions all the time so fast.

I really think that it is a very good book when I picked it up I did not think that it was going to be a very good book but I was wrong, it has kept me wanting to read more and it is a little confusing but for the most part really good. I think that the story outline is a little weird because it is about a ring but it is not bad.

Journal

I chosed this book because I have seen the movies and they where really good. I have never read a lord of the rings book and so far it is really good there has not been to much excitement yet but I a coming to that part which is cool in this book the is a lot of magic and stuff which I think is cool. So far in the book Bilbo Baggins has a mission and he decides to do it so he pulls a magic trick and escapes for all time…..

  1. What emotions did the book invoke: laughter, tears, smiles, anger? Or, was the book just boring and meaningless? Record some of your reactions.
SO far in this book I have felt two emotions sorrow and adventure. Sorrow because he leaves his son Frodo and all of his friends behind to go exploring, and adventure because he is leaving to go on an adventure because that is one of the main things Lord of the Rings is about.

  1. Would you like to be one of the characters (acquire a personality trait)? Which of the characters would you become, if you could? Why? If there's something about the character that you'd want to change, what is it?
Yes I would I would like to become a dark rider because they sound creepy and can pretty much do anything they want. They have black horses and where black cloaks so that is why they are called the black riders.

Journal

Bilbo has always wonder what lays on the other side of the river so on is 111th birthday he leaves.

Journal 10

I would like to read more books by this author because it is an adventure book and I love them. I think I will probably read more books by him because it is the first book the Lord of the Rings novels. This is my first book by this author and it is very well done.

Feb 5, 2010, 1:00 pm a girl hit a tree on a school ski trip and has died in hospital later on that day.
A supervisor teacher said she saw the accident and said that the girl was an experienced skier. The young girl was said to have a helmet on but it had no chance of saving the young girl from the catastrophic blows.
The accident was said to be on one of the smaller hills. The resort boasts a high vertical and long runs. Of more than 20 routes to the bottom, five are considered “easy,” including Ole K&P, a 232-metre vertical drop spread out over two kilometres. The supervisor was helping the hill paramedics but they could really do nothing, when helicopter paramedics came to air lift her out, She died later at the hospital.

The Giver.

I think that it is going to be a good book and the tone already is thinking on what’s going to happen next like it’s keeping your eye.
